Nicole Strickland has been interested in the supernatural since childhood. In addition to her innate psychic and empathic abilities, Nicole’s experience in the fields of counseling, education, psychology and social work give her a unique perspective on studying the unknown. She is known for her gentle and humble approaches to working with the spirit realms, her clients and the paranormal field at large.
Strickland is one of the leading West Coast afterlife & paranormal researchers. She’s the founder and director of the well-respected San Diego Paranormal Research Society and California Coordinator to the Ghost Research Society. Nicole is also a consultant to the American Spectral Association.
Nicole holds a B.A. degree in Media Arts / Journalism from the University of Arizona and an M.S. in Educational Counseling from National University. She plans to pursue a PhD in Parapsychology.
Paranormal Tours
Nicole hosts the monthly “Spirits of the Adobe” tours at the iconic Rancho Buena Vista Adobe along with SDPRS co-director Ali Schreiber. The tours are designed to give guests an extensive look at the site’s historical past and ghostly happenings. Tours are offered the 3rd Friday of each month at 7:00 pm and 9:30 pm. The SDPRS team has conducted historical and paranormal research on the adobe for over ten years.

With her passion, knowledge and unique ability to tell stories, Nicole is continually invited to speak at conferences, business events and libraries. She has offered compelling presentations at some of the best-known conventions, such as the Oregon Ghost Conference, Port Gamble Ghost Conference, Troy Taylor’s Haunted America Conference, Maritime Ghost Conference of San Diego, Preston Castle Benefit Paracon, Ghost Fest IV aboard the Queen Mary, Strange Escapes, USS Hornet History and Mystery event, among others. She has interviewed for nationally televised programs, including My Ghost Story: Caught on Camera, Travel Channel’s Ghost Stories and Famously Afraid. Strickland was also featured in the groundbreaking documentary, All Around Us: Inside the Life of Psychic Medium Seth Michael. Additionally, she has been interviewed for various newspapers and magazines and has appeared in numerous Internet and terrestrial radio shows/podcasts.

Nicole has appeared on numerous Internet and terrestrial-based radio shows and podcasts. She’s the executive producer / co-host of WLTK-db’s Haunted Voices Radio with Todd Bates. Having debuted in 2004, the show remains one of the best talk radio programs on paranormal and fringe topics.
Nicole debuted the Afterlife Chronicles Show on the WLTK-db network in October, 2020. It was selected by Feedspot as one of the top 25 programs on the afterlife in 2021 and 2022.
Interests
Nicole is a huge cat lover. She’s had many beloved felines in her life, all with unique characteristics and personalities. She shares a soul connection with her littermates, Max and Kayli, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge in 2016 and 2021 respectively. Nicole loves to travel to cities and towns with rich histories and paranormal high strangeness. Savannah and New York City are two of her absolute favorites.

There is just something remarkable about this ocean liner; words cannot definitively explain it. Since 2005, I have devoted much time to researching the ship’s history and profound paranormal phenomena. I am a cat lady and proud of it! My Cindy, Mittens, Max, Merlin and Simba have traveled over the Rainbow Bridge. I miss them profoundly but they do visit in spirit form. Max’s sister, Kayli, is still with me as is her cousin, Aeries. They are the light of my day. There is nothing like cuddling with a soft, warm, purring kitty.
Without a doubt, this would be encountering my maternal grandmother’s spirit shortly after her transition. A few days after her death, I saw her full-bodied apparition in my apartment. She looked about ten years younger and was adorned in one of her favorite blue and white house dresses. She looked rather calm and peaceful. I elaborate on this experience further in my book, The Afterlife Chronicles: Exploring the Connection between Life, Death and Beyond. I have had many experiences with the spirit realm throughout my life.
I went to high school at University of San Diego High School, which is now called Cathedral Catholic. I received my undergraduate degree at the University of Arizona and my masters degree at National University, both with honors.
